Dawn Joins City Creatures with over 15 years management experience. She has a strong background in human resource, business and finance. Dawn grew up for many years on a large farm where she found her love for animals. Her passion for both animals and business makes this position a perfect fit with City Creatures. Dawn has a beautiful daughter, a wonderful husband, and a Jack Russell names Daisy. In their spare time they love to go on adventures and explore new places together. She loves to cook, bake and garden in her free time.

Falon has wanted to become a Veterinary Technician since she was 9 years old when the pug that she loved dearly passed away. She grew up in the country and took it upon herself to make sure that the wildlife on her land were well cared for. She had a pet squirrel in addition to her menagerie including dogs, cats, birds, guinea pigs, rabbits, and chickens. She was accepted to the Medaille College Veterinary Technology program in 2007 and she graduated in 2010 with an Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology in addition to a Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Science. After college, she worked for an emergency veterinary hospital and a doggie daycare facility before starting at City Creatures in June of 2011. Falon was promoted to our Head Licensed Veterinary Technician in September of 2012 and then to our Office Manager position in April of 2015. She keeps busy caring for her twin girls, Savannah and Olivia, and her fiance, Dan.
Beka always had love and compassion for animals growing up. She pursued her career and became licensed as a veterinary technician in 2014 and graduated from Medaille College with a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Technology in 2015. Before attending Medaille, she worked as a kennel assistant and veterinary assistant. Beka started at City Creatures shortly after graduation. After taking a brief break in 2017 to explore emergency medicine, she has returned to our hospital full time. Her interests include dentistry, emergency medicine, surgery and patient care. Outside of work, Beka enjoys spending time with her two dogs, Carson and Pixie, and her three cats, Elsa, Romeo and Juliette.
Even though Bekki didn’t have any pets of her own growing up, she has always loved animals. Now, Bekki is so happy to be surrounded by animals every day! Bekki obtained a degree in Theatre from University at Buffalo, and joined the team at City Creatures in October 2015. In her spare time, she enjoys acting, hockey (especially the Sabres!), reading, watching TV, and curling up on the couch with her cat, Sammy.
Emme has always had an indescribable love and passion for all types of animals ever since she was a young girl. After graduating from high school she wash't sure what she wanted to attend college for, so she started her major in Early Childhood at Erie Community College. She soon realized that major just wasn't for her. She then transferred schools, where she began to major in General Studies until she could figure out which school she wanted to go to in order to study and do what it is she really loves, ANIMALS!
She discovered the Animal Management program at Niagara County Community College and will be graduating with an Associate Degree in Animal Management in the Fall of 2017. She has worked with and cared for various types of animals through her five internships at The North Ridge Stables and the Buffalo Zoo working with seal lions and otters, education critters, Indian rhinos, Axis deer, and the various primate species - including gorillas. She has had the wonderful opportunity to foster kittens several times in the past during her employment at the Erie County SPCA. She loves and cares for her Lionhead rabbit named Annabelle who she has had since she was 6 months old and had to say goodbye to her first pet ever, her beloved Stella, a rat, in June of 2017. She has 2 dogs (a puggle and a pomchi), a guinea pig, a leopard gecko, 3 goldfish and a tuxedo kitty. In her free time, she loves hiking and exploring the outdoors, fishing, watching the Buffalo Bills, and spending time with her family.
Licensed Veterinary Technicians
Janine had a natural born love for animals growing up with a cockatiel, cats, multiple fish, hamsters and an Irish Setter named Daisy, with whom she did 4H throughout her teenage years. She is a Buffalo native and has ridden horses since she was 10 years old. These experiences led her to pursue a degree at Medaille College for Veterinary Technology, graduating in 2011 with an associate’s degree. She rescued her skittish mamma’s boy tuxedo cat, Boots, from a hoarding situation shortly after graduating. She also opened her home to a special needs kitten, lovingly dubbed “Special” Ed, whom had severe neurological and muscular disabilities. Ed shared nearly two wonderful years with Janine, her fiancé, Boots and, for a short period of time, Mirage prior to the disease catching up with him. She and her fiancé, Mark, adopted Mirage, a trouble making but loving kitten, through Ten Lives Club in the summer of 2014. The newest edition to Janine’s “zoo” is a hedgehog named Arti. She also shares her life with Timber, a Red-Tailed Boa Constrictor. When she is not working, she enjoys relaxing with her loved ones and pets. Janine joined our team in 2013.
Rebecca grew up with two loving dogs, a Golden Retriever named Goldie and a Pointer named Daisy, and numerous budgies, and started caring for pets at an early age. Later in life she took on babysitting duties for her sister-in-law's hedgehog, Bruce Quillis. From there, she always knew that she wanted to work with animals and decided to pursue a degree in Veterinary Technology when she was 20 years old. In 2007, she started the program at Medaille College and graduated with an AS majoring in Veterinary Technology in 2009. She worked for a hospital in Derby, NY prior to having her son in 2012. After taking some time off to be a mom, she has returned to work on a part-time basis and has been a wonderful addition to our growing team.
Carrie has always loved animals even at a very young age. Growing up she always had cats and a few dogs. In middle school she researched numerous careers involving animals. She also performed a job shadow at a local vet with two other girls where she was the only one of the three that was able to watch all of the surgeries. She attended The Animal Science program at Genesee Valley BOCES her senior year where she worked with animals ranging from cows and sheep all the way down to mice and hamsters. She was also inducted into the National Vocational Technical Honor Society. Throughout her lifetime, she has had a variety of different animals including dogs, cats, birds, lizards, hamsters, ferrets, and guinea pigs. In 2013, she decided to go back to school and pursue the career she had always dreamed of. She was accepted into Genesee Community College's Veterinary Technology program in 2014 and graduated with her Associates Degree in May of 2016. After doing an externship at the Erie County SPCA and a week-long externship at Tampa's Lowry Zoo and Florida Aquarium she knew she wanted to work with a variety of species. She lives in Oakfield, NY with her husband, two sons, two cats, two parakeets, and four fish.
Camille has loved to help animals since she was very young. She has worked with various rescues and animal hospitals over the past 10 years. She fosters kittens, baby cottontail rabbits, and is willing to help any other animal in need. In addition to working for City Creatures, Camille attends Medaille College for their Vet Tech program, and is a active in helping to have feral cats spayed and neutered. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her own fur babies at home.
Erica has always had a deep love and respect for animals. Her mom adored animals and they always had cats running around the house ever since she could remember. Currently, her cat, Isosceles lives at home in New York City where she is from originally. She graduated from Medaille College in May of 2017 and decided to stay in Buffalo. She did an internship at Cornell’s wildlife center in the summer of 2016 where her love for wildlife and exotics grew. Then she worked for Buffalo Animal Adventures where she got to socialize with snakes, arctic foxes, turtles, a lemur, a coatimundi and more. This is why she chose to work at City Creatures where she can help not only small animals, but exotics as well. In her spare time she enjoys drawing, reading, cuddling with her boyfriend’s cats and exploring.
Kenny grew up with a plethora of pets, including cats, dogs, rabbits, and birds. His love of animals inspired him to become a Veterinary Technician. He has experience working with a variety of exotics, zoo and farm animals, as well as cats and dogs. Kenny joined City Creatures after graduating from SUNY Canton, and currently lives in Hamburg with his girlfriend, and their loving dog, Scooby. In his free time, Kenny enjoys racing motocross, snowmobiling, reading a good Sci-Fi book, and playing Magic: The Gathering.
As a Buffalo-native, Casey always felt a connection with every animal she met while growing up. She was inspired to become a Veterinary Technician by her first dog, a shepherd mix named Sable. She graduated from The Vet Tech Institute in Pittsburgh in 2014, then moved to Virginia Beach with her husband and worked as an Licensed Vet Tech for 3 years at both an emergency practice and a general practice. Casey moved back to Buffalo in 2018 so her daughter, Ellison, could be closer to family. Casey has 3 fur-kids: Tilly, the leader-of-the-pack white German Shepherd, Mason, the independent and dramatic Siberian Husky, and Chewie, the energetic and snugly German Shepherd. On her days off, Casey likes to take her daughter and fur-kids to play at a park or anywhere outdoors. Casey also volunteers for a Virginia-born charity -Spikes K9 Fund- that helps retired and active police k9s.
Melissa had dogs, cats and many different types of rodents as a child which led her to her calling in working with animals as an adult. She attended the Alfred State College Veterinary Technology program from 2002 until she graduated in 2004 with an Associates in Science degree. She worked as an LVT after obtaining her license in 2004 and joined our team after her first child was born in 2010. She took a short City Creatures hiatus from 2012 until 2013 at which time we were able to warmly welcome her back to our family after her daughter was born. Presently you will see (or hear) her smiling face at our front desk, offering her expertise as a licensed veterinary technician in taking care of your pets' needs. Melissa was promoted to lead veterinary technician in June of 2016.
Since her childhood, Autumn has always loved animals. Throughout her life, she has had several breeds of dogs, to include - Brittany Spaniel, Labrador Retriever, Pitbull, and she currently has a Puggle. Autumn has since expanded her home to chinchillas and recently adopted two kittens. During middle school, she had raised kittens that were found abandoned until they were big enough for a home. Autumn is currently enrolled in the Veterinary Technician program at Medaille College and joined our team in June 2016.
Denise has had a love for animals ever since she could remember. Her first pet was a bird and a guinea pig at 7 yrs old, and many different animals after that. After moving to Florida 10 years ago, she decided to pursue her love of animals and applied to her first clinic as a kennel assistant but quickly moved up to Kennel Manager and veterinary assistant and did technician work as well. She has knowledge in working with birds and exotics in addition to consulting with clients regarding behavioral issues in their dogs. She aspires to become a NYS Licensed Veterinary Technician in the future and is enrolled in an online Veterinary Technology program. She joined our family at City Creatures in April of 2015.
Rachel was born into a family of animal lovers, and raised alongside many beloved dogs, cats, rats, hamsters, and fish. She planned from a very young age to pursue a career working with and caring for animals. She graduated from Canisius College in 2013 where she received her degree in Animal Behavior, Ecology, and Conservation. She has worked with animals in several areas, including Behavioral Modification and Wildlife Rehabilitation at the SPCA, and was a Canisius Ambassador for Conservation, giving educational tours of wetland ecology to children at Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge. She began working at City Creatures in March 2015, and currently shares her home with 5 cats, 2 Leopard Geckos, 2 Guinea Pigs, and a Bearded Dragon. Rachel is enrolled in the Penn Foster online Veterinary Technology program with aspirations of becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician in the near future.
Grace has had a deep understanding and passion for all different kinds of animals ever since she was a little girl. She grew up in South Buffalo with three cats, a dog, two hamsters, a guinea pig, and a ball python. She helped rehabilitate two baby bunnies that lost their mother to a dog when she was eight years old. She also cared for two wild baby sparrows when she was thirteen.
After graduating high school, Grace knew she wanted to work with animals, but wasn’t sure which career she wanted. She began studying biology and zoology at Erie County Community College. After two years, she decided to join the animal management program at Niagara County Community College. During the two year program, she interned at five different animal care facilities: North Ridge Farms, the Aquarium of Niagara, the Amphibian and Reptile House at the Buffalo Zoo, the Niagara County SPCA, and the Primate Sanctuary. She graduated in 2016 with an associate degree in animal management.
She has also studied dog training including some police K9 training and currently volunteers at the Primate Sanctuary once a week. Grace is a veterinary assistant and will soon be training as a receptionist as well. She is currently enrolled in Penn Foster’s online Veterinary Technician program and is excited to be a part of our team.
