She is a Buffalo native and has ridden horses since she was 10 years old. These experiences led her to pursue a degree at Medaille College for Veterinary Technology, graduating in 2011 with an associate’s degree. She rescued her skittish mamma’s boy tuxedo cat, Boots, from a hoarding situation shortly after graduating. She also opened her home to a special needs kitten, lovingly dubbed “Special” Ed, whom had severe neurological and muscular disabilities.  Ed shared nearly two wonderful years with Janine, her fiancé, Boots and, for a short period of time, Mirage prior to the disease catching up with him.  She and her fiancé, Mark, adopted Mirage, a trouble making but loving kitten, through Ten Lives Club in the summer of 2014.   The newest edition to Janine’s “zoo” is a hedgehog named Arti.  She also shares her life with Timber, a Red-Tailed Boa Constrictor. When she is not working, she enjoys relaxing with her loved ones and pets. Janine joined our team in 2013.

She has had the opportunity of caring for animals from large to small and has even had the opportunity to get to be close to an elephant on one of her externships. The animals that are part of her family now consist of two horses, four amazing dogs, a cat, a ferret, and a turtle. She knew she wanted to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician when she was in highschool and signed up to take animal science and equine science.
